WickedGov is a collaborative project that anyone can edit. For a collaborative project to work effectively, certain behavioral standards are in place. Without them, wikis would not exist in their current form.
Most of the guidelines on this page are not exclusive to WickedGov and are followed at many other wikis such as Wikipedia. If you have edited Wikipedia before, you are probably familiar with most of the content of this page.
Civility[edit source]
![]() | This section documents an official policy on WickedGov. |
All editors should treat each other with respect and foster an environment of camaraderie.
Editors are expected to comment primarily on content, not on contributors. While criticism of user conduct is necessary and expected, personal attacks against a fellow editor or group of editors are forbidden. Discriminatory comments against protected classes such as race, sex, gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, and national origin are also prohibited.
Assume good faith[edit source]
Unlike in physical life, it is usually impossible to see the person behind the username, and it is certainly impossible to predict their intentions. Therefore, users should, within reason, assume that other editors are attempting to improve WickedGov, even if they are clearly failing to make high-quality edits. Many edits that initially appear to be destructive are simply honest mistakes or newer editors finding their way around.
